About Feetle Online

Feetle Online is a small, independent home for word ladders that end at FEET. You can play a daily ladder, practise with unlimited ladders, check the answers to the original Feetle, and solve any ladder of your own with the word ladder solver.

Credit where it is due

The idea of a daily ladder to FEET comes from the original Feetle on feetle.fun, which was inspired by Poople. Word ladders themselves are much older: Lewis Carroll published them as "Doublets" in 1877, and our word ladder guide tells that story. This site is not the original game and is not connected with it. We built our own game, our own puzzles and our own solver; if you enjoy Feetle, play the original too.

Where the words come from

Moves are checked against 3,854 four-letter words from the public-domain ENABLE word list, with slurs and crude words removed. Par uses a smaller list of the 2,338 most common of those words, ranked by how often they appear in film and TV subtitles, so the par route never needs an obscure word. You may still use a rare word, and sometimes it beats par.

How the daily puzzle is picked

Each day at 00:00 UTC the game takes the next start word from a fixed, shuffled list of everyday words that sit four to seven steps from FEET. Everyone gets the same word on the same day. Your progress, stats and streak stay in your own browser; see the privacy policy.
